For over forty years, Mian Anjum Nisar has stood at the intersection of industry and advocacy — building enterprises that create jobs and exports, and speaking for the wider business community in the country's most important trade institutions.
He chairs the ATS Group of Industries, founded by his father, the late Mian Nisar Elahi, in 1968 as Pakistan's first synthetic-leather manufacturer. Today the group spans petrochemicals, synthetic leather, spinning and plastics through companies including Nimir Chemicals Pakistan Limited, ATS Synthetic and Nisar Spinning Mills.
Beyond his own enterprises, he has led the country's apex chambers — serving as President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and, earlier, of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI). He is the long-serving Chairman of the Businessmen Panel (BMP) and Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Industrial & Traders Associations Front (PIAF), and represented Pakistan's private sector as a Vice President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Throughout, his advocacy has returned to a consistent set of themes: a competitive cost of doing business, lower policy rates, stronger exports and industrialisation, accessible financing for small and medium enterprises, and deeper regional trade cooperation.
“Mian” is a hereditary courtesy title carried by the family — his father was Mian Nisar Elahi, who founded the group in 1968. Today Anjum Nisar leads it alongside his brother, Tariq Nisar.
